What exactly is a wellness or wellbeing retreat?

Wellbeing Retreat in South Lincolnshire

You may have an idea of what a wellbeing, or wellness, retreat is – a get-away for ‘me time’, to unwind and relax, to feel refreshed and ready to go back to the hecticness of modern-day life. But it is more than that.

A wellbeing retreat can be life changing! It offers not only time for yourself, but an opportunity to reconnect, to regain the zest for life, to gain a new perspective, an opportunity to learn something new and to gain clarity to make more meaningful decisions in life.

Retreats, often located in tranquil places, offer you the perfect setting and space to put the hustle and bustle of life to one side and to truly reconnect on many levels.

Traditional holidays only achieve short-term improvements in health and wellbeing, whereas going on a meditation weekend retreat or a yoga holiday, can better enhance and sustain your physical health and mental wellbeing over the longer term.

Take deep care of body, mind & spirit

Revive & Refresh in a Rosewell Wellbeing Retreat

The Rosewell Centre offers you the space to step back from the pace of life most of us have these days, to truly switch off and to reconnect with yourself, nature and to experience a range of exercises, therapies and workshops that have the power to positively change your life.

Located on the edge of Castle Bytham village, with the beautiful south Lincolnshire countryside all around, the Rosewell Centre provides peaceful, comfortable and safe retreats every weekend between May and September.

Castle Bytham is within easy reach of the towns of Stamford, Grantham, Oakham and Bourne and the historical cities of Nottingham and Lincoln for added culture and amenities.

The experienced and expert Rosewell team offers a range of holistic activities and therapies that can be built into your wellness retreat. Why not learn something completely new or explore something deeper in a safe and encouraging space?

Connect to innate wisdom in your retreat”

Gain a New Perspective

A holistic approach to retreats that involves a combination of healing therapies, yoga, meditation, being outdoors, eating healthy foods such as macrobiotic and vegan, within a calming environment has a tendency to shift consciousness towards a healthier way of life.

Following a Rosewell wellbeing retreat, guests have reported that they return to their demanding lives with a renewed sense of empowerment, energy and clarity. The experience gained from their retreat helps them to make more conscious decisions in their lives as they become more confident in factoring in healthy practices for their wellbeing without the guilt of taking time out just for themselves.

Unwind in Nature

Human beings are a part of our natural ecosystem, which we depend upon for our survival. Nature provides abundant opportunities for both physical activity and stress recovery and one of the great advantages of going on a rural wellbeing retreat is that it offers you closeness to nature, allowing you to reconnect with its healing power.

The Rosewell Centre sits within two-acres of gardens, orchards and fields with far reaching views across the south Lincolnshire countryside. We call this ‘The Village’ where you are surrounded by plum, apple, pear, cherry and walnut trees, raspberry, currant, blueberry and hazelnut bushes – you’ll feel nature all around you, not to mention benefiting from the abundant and delicious fresh food it provides! Our regeneratively grown vegetables are used in our lacto-fermenting pickle workshops, that can also form part of your retreat.

A grove made up of beautiful silver birch and oak provides a welcome area to sit, relax, contemplate or star gaze around a fire pit on those warm summer evenings. There is also a shaded area for outdoor exercise and yoga classes.

Access to Expert Advice

Wellbeing retreats may include yoga, meditation, healing treatments or counselling sessions by professionals who support you in finding your balance and a sense of wellbeing. These personalised sessions are based on your needs and provide you with simple tools and practices that can be integrated into your daily routine when you return home.

The Rosewell Centre has a team of experts with decades of experience developing and teaching holistic healing, health and wellness practices and who are happy to pass on their knowledge and wisdom to help you achieve your true divine self.

Unplug & Reconnect with Others

Digital stimulation can lead to poor decision-making and in an era of text, email, social media, messaging and apps we often find ourselves doing too many things at once. Constant external stimulation and multitasking has been found to increase stress and fight-or-flight hormones. This can overstimulate your brain and result in mental fog and poor sleep patterns. Mindfulness through meditation is the opposite – this is the act of dedicating time to your actions so you can make clearer, more conscious and therefore, better decisions. A weekend detox retreat really allows you to unplug, unwind and reconnect with others – reclaim that zest for life!
